'Tis the Season

It goes without saying that this is the time of year when people need the most help.  It's cold outside and families are in desperate need of winter coats for their growing children.  The nearly bare tables surrounded by families that only have each other do not compare to the tables where many of us will feast during the holidays.  And our children, who know the excitement that comes with Santa's visit all too well, will go back to school and share their stories of the holidays with their friends . . . who may not have a story to tell.
Please hold those family close to your heart this season.  When you're shopping for bargains, pick up an extra toy, jacket, sweater, or coat for a child this Christmas.  As you go through your kids rooms to make space for more toys, clothes, etc. - think about children at your kids school(s) who may desperately need those donations.  Ask your school administrators what you can do to help and use the power of Facebook to make this season one of giving and pass on the goodwill.  Engage your kids . . . show them the spirit of giving by allowing them to take an Angel from the Angel Tree.  Take them to the store, give them a budget (no gift is too small), and let them take part in giving to a child in need.
This holiday season, my Pure Strength groups are sponsoring a family in need.  We are giving them a Christmas and all that comes with that - food, gifts, and a few extras.  We found a family that, despite all of their hard work, just can't seem to make ends meet . . . and they were not hard to find.  I recommend you do the same . . . on what ever scale you can . . . sponsor a family, a child from the Angel Tree, or donate what you can . . . any and all forms of help are needed.

Have a great week...:))

Great message, Margie!! I have been doing Angel Tree with my kids for many years - they each get to pick an angel and we go shopping for them. Thank you for what you are doing for the family that you have adopted!!
