June 25 - MARGIE MASSEY'S OPEN HOUSE


My June Newsletter included a special article on antioxidants and had links to the Dr. Oz Show focused on cancer fighting antioxidants.  If you watched that Dr. Oz episode, then you saw the cool scanner they used to measure a person's antioxidant level.  Guess what?!  I will have that same scanner at the open house and if you attend, I'll scan your hand and measure your antioxidant level!  In fact, my open house was inspired by that Dr. Oz Show episode in an effort to educate, as much as possible, on how to increase your antioxidant level - especially when you have a hectic lifestyle like me.  In addition to antioxidants, we'll discuss your vitamin routine and making sure you're getting the most out of it.  There will be a ton of clean samples - like fibers bars, protein bars, protein shakes, and all natural energy drinks.  The last thing we'll cover is cleansing and make sure you are getting the cleanest products available.


JULY 23 - Big Brothers Big Sisters Donations

On July 23, Spectrum Bandera is hosting a Block Party to raise money for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization.  If you are a Bandera regular, then you know this is a very special event we put on every year.  More details will be available soon; however, it's not to early to make your donation!

I'm looking for 50 people to pledge and pay $25 by Monday, July 11 - for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization.  I am tracking everything because anyone making a $25 donation will receive a special treat from me!  Anyone pledging $50 or more (I need at least 25 people!!!), by July 11 will get an AWESOME prize...:))  So don't miss out!  If you miss the July 11 deadline, you are still encouraged to donate; however, I can't guarantee a prize.  Again, please be sure you hand me your donation because I am tracking everything and if it's not in my hands, then it won't get written down...:))  THANK YOU, I know you will come through for me, Erick, and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization!!!


June 25th - DEADLINE to receive a PURE STRENGTH Summer tank!

This Saturday is the DEADLINE to receive a SPECIAL EDITION tank when you sign up for Summer Pure Strength!  You can still sign up for Pure Strength after June 25th, however, you are not guaranteed the Summer tank.  The Summer Pure Strength session starts July 25 and runs 6 weeks.  You can choose any combo of days and times that work best for you. 

Class Info: Class is offered Monday, Wednesday & Fridays at 5am or 3:45pm.


SPECIAL EDITION July 4th Bootie Kick Class . . . you in?

As you know, July 4th is a holiday schedule for the gym and there are no group ex classes.  However, if I can get 50 people to comment on this blog (below), email me, or Facebook me to say they WILL ATTEND a July 4th SPECIAL EDITION Bootie Kick class from 10:30-?, then I will be there!  Also, for those of you who will need Kids Club - it will be open and available during this time!  If the special Bootie Kick class is on, then you will be notified via email or Facebook.

Summer Pure Strength

If you haven't heard the excitement yet, I'm cooking up something VERY SPECIAL for the Summer session of Pure Strength!  It's a shortened 6-week session with either a 2x/week or 3x/week option.  You can choose any day and any time combination that works for you.  The class is offered on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday at either 5 am or 3:45 pm.  So, if you want to sign up for 2 classes per week, you can attend 1 morning class & 1 afternoon class; 2 morning classes; or 2 afternoon classes --- on which ever days you choose: Mon/Wed; Mon/Fri; Wed/Fri.

If you sign up BY Saturday, JUNE 25th - you get a free, SPECIAL EDITION Summer Pure Strength tank!!!  The  price is $200 for 2x/week; and $300 for 3x/week --- and you can pay in full or make two payments (at the beginning and at the 3 week mark) if you choose.  Email me if you want to sign up or have any questions regarding the class.

Work Hard to Play Hard

My mind has been racing trying to figure out something to write about for this week – and the only thing that came to me is my reality these days . . . which is I am working hard so I can play hard.  I’m just like you – there are days when I don’t think I can add one more thing to my task list or find one more ounce of energy to get through the rest of the day.  And like you . . . I somehow find what I need to make it.

Whether it’s a much needed, and long awaited, night out with friends, or an upcoming vacation that has my attention – there is usually something that grabs my focus and helps me kick it up a notch and work even harder.  And if I’m out with friends or on vacation, I want to have fun . . . that is not the time to calorie count.  Now that’s not to say that I’m going to get out of control with my eating or drinking (even non-alcoholic beverages, people…:))) – but the goal is to have fun and enjoy your time.

You’ve heard me say it several times – in the gym, in the blog, and in the newsletter.  If you’re going to play hard, you have to work hard!  And chances are . . . because it’s summer . . . you’re going to play hard more often . . . I know I am…;))  Do yourself a favor and get to the gym each day or as often as you can, and work-out your hardest – no slacking!  Then you will be prepared for those last minute get-togethers (and the planned ones too).

Do your best to conserve your calories to allow for the wine, drinks, snacks, etc.  Then, when you’re out with your friends or family – have fun, but don’t go crazy.  Keep your workouts consistent and you will be fine this summer!  No regrets.
