Kickboxing Gloves . . . extended!

I've moved the kickboxing gloves order date to this Friday - October 7!

If you haven't already, turn in your order this Friday to get your gloves.  They are $35 per pair and most women wear a size Medium . . . unless you are petite (like me) - then you need a Small.  If you want a pair, please put your money ($35) in an envelope with YOUR NAME and SIZE on the outside of the envelope.  When they come in, I'll hand them out in class.

Thanks!

Have a great week...:))

Shout out to Teachers

You don't need me to tell you that school is in full swing!  You're
feeling the whirlwind of assignments, grading, copies, testing, etc.
and the stress of getting your own kids back on track.  We all know
the rush of excitement for a new year, a new way of doing things, a
new principal, and getting ahead.  While the excitement may be a thing
of the past, the rush - I'm sure - won't subside until late May.

So, we're about 5 or 6 weeks in - you know your schedule and your kids
activity schedules.  You know what you have to do to be sure you're
fitting in fitness.  It is a critical part of your health - to keep
moving and de-stress.  And I can hear you saying "I chase after kids
all day," or "I run to get  copies, or to get this or that" - I know
you do.  Not for one minute do I think that you are sitting at a desk
all day, in a nice cushy chair as you give orders to kids who politely
listen and do as they're told.  Believe me - I get it.  But don't
convince yourself that this is the workout you need.  It may be a
workout, I'll grant you that - but it is NOT the activity that your
body and mind needs to deal with the stresses of life.

So, what are you going to do about it?  Over the years, I have noticed
that it takes teachers a full semester to get back into their routine
at the gym.  I'm always happy to see them return, but they come back
in desperation - don't let this happen to you.  If you have to get up
early to fit in a workout, then do it.  I KNOW IT'S HARD - but you
NEED it.  If you have to leave at 4:30 or 5:30 (on Mondays) to make
kickboxing, then do it!  You don't have to do it everyday, but you can
set that as a daily goal and the reality is you'll get in what you
need - at least 3 days of workouts.  I know you can do it - get
started!  I'll be waiting for you!

Have a great week...:))

Summer PS Bash & New Baby

Sorry for the late blog, peeps.  As many of you already know, my aunt is in the hospital fighting for her life.  So, if I'm not at work, I'm at the hospital with her.  Thanks for all your well wishes, it means more than you know.

This weekend was filled with good and not so good.  What made it so special was that even with the 'not so good' part of it, I was around my Pure Strength peeps at the Summer PS Bash.  I think I can speak for all when I say that it was a great time with close friends and great food!  We have grown into a family and I really count on these special people to get me through.

This party was a  little different than the rest - rather than having just the PS participants, we included family in a great setting!  We had a game of kickball going with the kids, some others were visiting while the rest were going in and out fixing their dinner and dessert plates.  The weather was great and I think it's safe to say that everyone had a great time.  Big thanks (again) to Speedy for hosting such a fun event...:))

Thanks to you all - I am really grateful for your friendship, support and encouragement.  Like I always say: without you, there is no me.

BABY ON THE WAY!!!  We're hosting a baby shower for Erick this Sunday (September 18) at 4pm!  If you know Erick and are interested in getting a little something for the impending birth of his first child, please feel free to do so.  You can either give the gift to me or drop it off at the front desk.

Have a great week...:))
