Taking a little Christmas break . . .

First, I want to tell you what an amazing weekend our Pure Strength group had when we delivered Christmas to a very deserving family.  It was such a rewarding experience, and I can't tell you how proud I am of our PS family for coming together for such a beautiful family!

As we all know, the prep for the holidays takes a lot out of all of us. That's why it is so important to be sure you are still taking care of yourself and getting to the gym. M2, along with my awesome daughter - Tayler, will have some really great classes to get you ready for all those holiday treats!

I will be teaching all my Monday classes and kickboxing on Tuesday, then I will be out the rest of the week, until Monday - Dec 26.  M2 is taking a little break starting this Wednesday through Saturday.  Tayler is subbing my kickboxing classes on Wednesday and Thursday morning and Jen will be doing pads. Thank you girls for making it possible for me to take a little break...:))

M2 will be checking in so you better show up 'cause "Santa" knows who's naughty and who's nice...:))  I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and I will look forward to seeing you on Monday, the 26th.

Merry Christmas!

Fall Pure Strength Party

After each Pure Strength session, we celebrate all of our hard work with a super fun get together.  It's where the morning crew (because the ladies have little to no make-up) get to reintroduce themselves with new faces...;))  It is great fun because we all get to visit - without catching our breath between sets - and get to know one another a little better - without wet, sweaty clothes...:))  And last night, I was able to celebrate with the Fall crew.

This group of people has really become my family.  I look forward to seeing them every day (or every other day), I miss them when they are not in class, and I couldn't wait to celebrate with them before Sunday came.  We had such a wonderful time!  A few of the girls performed a hilarious version of the 12 Days of Christmas - appropriately titled, The 12 Weeks of Torture (look for it on my wall soon); we played a few games and it was nice to see that the enthusiasm in the gym carried over to the evening's events.  The family atmosphere and the laughter from the evening is what I hold very close to my heart and I feel SO grateful to be around such kind and thoughtful people.  And how lucky I was to see and experience that kindness in a very personal way this round when we sponsored a family in need.

Our PS family came together in a BIG way to bring cheer to our sponsored family.  With their donations, this Christmas will hopefully ease the sadness from their recent tragedy and help renew their hope and spirit.  This is a really good family with really great kids and I am so blessed to be part of this gift.  And if you have a little room in your budget, and can live with a little less this holiday, please consider helping someone in need.

Thanks again to all who helped with the party and with our sponsored family.  You all are amazing people and I'm pretty sure you know that you are each very special to me!

Have a great week...:))

Thanks for checking in...

For those of you who know me well, you picked up on the fact that last week was a very stressful week for me.  Thanks again for the texts and phone calls all in an effort to check in on me.  As usual, I had a lot of balls in the air and a ball or two dropped.  We all have those days, don't we?

Well, there is the proof that I am human - I know some of you often doubt that...:))  I like to think that I am a machine and not allow some things to get to me, but sometimes it just doesn't work out that way.  Compounded with all of that is the fact that, like you, I have incredibly high expectations of myself.  Does any of this sound familiar?  I think it's something we can all relate to and I know we've all been there a time or two . . . or ten...;))  You just have to pick-up, dust yourself off, and move forward.

We often tell one another, as a measure of encouragement, to not quit.  Well, sometimes you do . . . and that's ok.  Yes . . . M2 just said it's ok to quit.  BUT (you knew there would be a "but"), do not let it take you down for more than a couple of days.  Don't let life's struggles and stresses get the best of you because before you know it, those few days will turn into weeks, then six weeks, and then three months later you are going to wonder how you got buried so deep in that hole.  It is easy to get stuck there, however, it's also easy to get out - you just don't have a choice, you have to get over it.  And I'm over it...:))

Thanks again for checking on me, friends.  You are important to me and I apologize if I was short with you or just not all there mentally.  I'm back and I'm back in a BIG  way . . . see you soon!

Have a great week...:))
